A 2022 study by Tourism Economics reported that of the 14 counties in the Finger Lakes region, Ontario County captured 8% of total visitor spending. Only the more populous Monroe and Onondaga counties exceeded that percentage.

Researchers estimated the total economic impact of tourism in Ontario County totaled $260 million.
